OGDEN, N.Y. -- Dozens of firefighters fought flames for hours on Friday as a shopping center was gutted in Ogden.

Nearly a dozen businesses are located at Barefoot Landing Plaza on Union Street.

Fire crews said the flames had already traveled up to the roof and spread through the corner of the structure by the time they arrived.

Soon after, part of the roof collapsed.

The blaze left behind significant smoke and water damage to four businesses—destroying two.

Studio 259, a salon owned by Christie Wollschleger since July 2016, was one of the businesses completely destroyed. She says with the support of the community, she is confident that after rebuilding, they will be stronger than ever.

"It’s hard on us and it will be hard a little bit. My clients are all texting me and I look forward to rebuilding and doing a grand reopening and working with all the other businesses here. We are a good family here at the Plaza and will come back strong," said Wollschleger.

According to officials, no one was injured.

Investigators said they do not yet know how the fire started.

Spencerport Municipal Electric announced that some power has been restored, including in Krony’s Pizza and the Union Street Eatery.
