ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A woman was seriously hurt in an overnight hit-and-run in Rochester.

Police were called to Lake Avenue near Emerson Street just before 2 a.m. Saturday for the report of a person hit by a vehicle.

There they found 55-year-old Angela McConniughey, of Rochester, laying in the road with serious injuries to her lower body.

She was taken to the hospital by ambulance where police say she's expected to survive.
