New Yorkers who move out of the city may not neccesarily be leaving because of how expensive it is.

A report from real estate company StreetEasy shows many are moving to counties with higher home prices.

In fact, more than 75 percent are moving to places where the housing costs are among the highest in the country.

Los Angeles is the most popular major city for New Yorkers to venture off to.

Chicago, San Francisco and Washington DC are also among the top spots.

Not all New Yorkers will leave the immediate area.

Forty-three percent who do move will actually move to somewhere within the tri-state area.
