Wednesday in Buffalo was a day most residents were glad to be working indoors, as the bitter temperatures were making it tough to be outside.

Letter carrier Jeremy Boczar experienced the frigid wind chills firsthand. He says layers upon layers is how he keeps warm.

But he says he actually prefers dealing with the snow to the wind he experienced Wednesday, where the real-feel temperature dipped to negative 5 degrees.

"It's only getting colder and we're now in the teens. So all the snow that once melted into water has now turned into ice. So you have to be really safe and walk slowly so you don't bust yourself on the ground," said Boczar.

Letter carriers are asking everyone to shovel and salt the path to their mailboxes to help keep them safe. Anyone with a roadside mailbox is asked to shovel out around it so the mail truck can pull up to it.
