Syracuse astronaut Dr. Jeanette Epps will have to wait a bit longer to begin her trip home to Earth.

Epps and the other SpaceX Crew-8 astronauts were supposed to depart the International Space Station Sunday morning. However, due to unfavorable weather conditions in the splashdown and recovery zones, NASA called off those plans.

If weather improves, NASA and SpaceX says they are targeting no earlier than Friday morning for undocking.

Epps has spent seven months orbiting 250 miles above Earth. While in space, she’s been conducting experiments, including ones that show how space affects the human body.
