Ilion Mayor Brian Lamica on Monday gave Spectrum News an update on the village’s water issues.

He said water has mostly cleared up, and they're moving forward to fix their water problems.

Earlier this year, residents reported having discolored water.

That's not a new issue for the village, but it lasted several months for many residents until an aeration system was installed.

A meeting was held in September to fill people in on the situation.

A water tanker was brought in last month along with bottled water from the Health Department.

The mayor said the water system has since been flushed, and water has cleared in most of the village.

Ultimately, the infrastructure needs to be replaced.

Village leaders are still contemplating whether to partner with the Mohawk Valley Water Authority.

Lamica also said they're awaiting test results from the Health Department.
