SCHUYLER, N.Y. -- One person is dead after a tractor-trailer crash in the town of Schuyler.

Troopers say 49-year-old Bruce Debraccio from Florida lost control of the truck on the eastbound side of the Thruway Monday morning, and hit a bridge. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the tractor-trailer, 56-year-old Valerie Martin, was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Investigators are still looking into why the victim lost control of the truck. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
