BATH, N.Y. — An RIT student charged in the death of her own mother has taken a plea deal to testify against her father.
Karrie Neurauter will receive a sentence of 15 years to life in exchange for her testimony. She was charged with second degree murder.
Prosecutors say Karrie admitted her father, Lloyd Neurauter, confronted her with an ultimatum last August, asking her to help kill his estranged wife, Michele Neurauter, or he would kill himself.
The Steuben County's District Attorney's office says Karrie was not physically involved in her mother's death, but drove Lloyd to and from the scene, disconnected electronic devices and distracted a younger sibling.
Michelle was found dead in her home. Investigators say the death was staged to look like a suicide.
The report says Karrie will remain in Steuben County Jail until sentencing.
Lloyd is scheduled to go on trial in September. He's charged with first degree murder and several other charges.
