ALBANY, N.Y. — A paralyzed Albany man played the national anthem before Saturday's Empire game at the Times Union Center.

David Whalen was paralyzed in a ski accident when he was 18 years old.

With the help of his friend, he's developed the Jamboxx, which allows him to play music with his mouth.

He says the Jamboxx, developed in Albany, has been put to use to help people around the world.

"We've shed some tears on occasion, we've been able to meet people with quadriplegia in Australia, Turkey, Europe, the Netherlands, Germany and it's been a really good feeling," said Whalen.

He says playing the national anthem before the crowd at the TU was going to be another really good feeling.
