An adult and an infant were rescued by Buffalo firefighters Monday morning.

The call came in around 6 a.m. for a house on LaForce Place near Hertel Avenue in North Buffalo.

The adult and child were trapped on the porch of the two-and-a-half story house. Three other children inside the home at the time were able to get out safely.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters had a difficult time putting out this fire due to the cold temperatures overnight.

“We have to pick up the lines real fast, otherwise they will freeze in place,” said Buffalo Fire Department Division Chief Ronald Morganti. “There were a lot of problems with the drains in the fire trucks. But luckily we got this fire out right away so we didn’t have any complications with the lines freezing.”

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
