The Buffalo mother accused of endangering the welfare of her seven-month-old child was in city court Wednesday.

Her ex-boyfriend as there as well, facing felony charges for hurting the infant.

Jasmine Mendez and Frank Redd are accused of seriously injuring the infant, who still receiving treatment for brain injuries at Oishei Children’s Hospital.

Redd is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree assault and reckless assault. He was arrested Saturday.

Mendez, who was arrested Friday, is charged with child endangerment after leaving the infant with Redd. She initially told police the infant was left in the custody of a homeless man.

Both Redd and Mendez remain in police custody and are scheduled to return to Buffalo City Court on February 13.
