It's a true a sign of spring as the Elmwood Village Farmers Market opened Saturday morning

From local produce to spring flowers, people can visit more than forty vendors, all while listening to local bands.

The market is between Elmwood Avenue and Bidwell Parkway.

Customers and vendors say being able to speak one on one makes the experience more meaningful than a typical grocery store.

"To be able to know where your food comes from, how it’s grown are important questions to ask your local farmers,” said local farmer Crystal VanAllen. “Sometimes when you buy form your local grocery stores you don't know where it's coming from and what's used on it and we enjoy that interaction with our customers as well."

The market will run through the summer and move indoors during the fall. Rain or shine, it's open from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
