BUFFALO, N.Y. — More refugees and low-income families will soon have access to health services on Buffalo's East Side.

Jericho Road Community Health Center's latest expansion to the Broadway Fillmore Corridor was recently given the funding it needs to complete the transformation of the space.

M&T Bank provided a $1.95 million construction loan and a $100,000 grant to accelerate the project at 1021 Broadway.

Similar to the locations on the Barton and Genesee Street, this location will provide medical and pharmaceutical services.

"There's going to be a full medical suite which encompasses our primary medical services as well as support programs in that," said Magdalena Nichols, Jericho Road Community Health Center Chief Officer of Development and Strategic Partnerships.

Medical services will include primary care, OBGYN and pediatrics as well as behavior health services, a spiritual care program and diabetes care.

A pharmacy, dental clinic and x-ray imaging will also be available at 1021 Broadway.

Creating a community health hub with around 500 jobs, the rest of the space will be shared between nine different nonprofits.

A fitness center will also be in the space for patients, employees and community members.

The medical suite is set to open this July, the pharmacy in summer 2019 and they expect nonprofits to begin moving in over the next two years.

They are now accepting new patients and working with patients to enroll in insurance.
