The U.S. Housing and Urban Development regional administrator Lynne Patton was in Jamestown and Dunkirk on Friday to discuss additional funding for a popular program once in danger of being cut.

Patton stood on the steps of Dunkirk City Hall to announce a 10 percent increase in a community development block grant. She also visited a handful of projects in both the north and south county that have benefited from the funding.

"Jamestown and Dunkirk are indeed sister cities in this fight to give resources back to the community and I want to make it clear, HUD stands with you," said Lynne Patton, HUD Regional Administrator.

Patton says she will announce the exact funding amounts for Jamestown and Dunkirk in the coming weeks.
