BUFFALO, N.Y. — No injuries were were reported from an early morning fire that displaced 10 people.

Buffalo firefighters responded to the fire on Sumner Street around 3:15 Friday morning.

Nine people on the first floor and one person on the second floor were able to escape.

The fire is believed to have started on the second floor but an investigation is continuing.

Crews are keeping an eye on the structure for any hot spots that might flare up again, but firefighters say they didn't have too much trouble putting the main fire out.

"It was a textbook job," said Buffalo Fire Division Chief Peter Kertzie.

Damage to the house is estimated at $70,000.
