BUFFALO, N.Y.--Assemblyman Sean Ryan is hoping to give the NFTA's Metro Rail a makeover.

And he's calling on state lawmakers to set aside $100 million dollars to get the job done.

The plan is roll out the proposed upgrades over a five year period.

Ryan believes the money can be pulled from ridesharing fees, the public bridge authority and matched tax funding from the state and Niagara County.

"It's been a long bone of contention that the people of Erie County put money in each and every year to fund the services. Some of the services that we put money into fund provides services to Niagara County and to get to NCCC and to get to Niagara Falls,” said Ryan.

Ryan said he's hoping to get that money secured before the 2018-2019 state budget deadline in two weeks.
