The NHL has announced a Buffalo-based band will slide in to perform during the first intermission of the Winter Classic.
As the Sabres and Rangers prepare for the second period on New Year's Day, the Goo Goo Dolls will take the ice.
The Grammy-nominated group has performed for the NHL previously, during the 2010 NHL Awards show.
Fans hoping for better days can tune in at 1 p.m. on January 1 to see the outdoor game.
The league says it will announce additional performers in the coming days.
