Don't cancel your outdoor plans this weekend!  Most of Saturday and Sunday will be dry.  However, if you're outside during the late afternoon and evening hours, you'll want to keep an eye on radar.  A few thunderstorms could develop, but shouldn't last very long.

With very warm temperatures today, a few locations could see one of those quick thunderstorms late this afternoon or evening.  Firday's slight chance for storms will mainly be for locations from from the Virginia border to around the Triangle.   Then most of central and eastern North Carolina will see around a 20% to 30% chance for an afternoon storm on Saturday and Sunday as a front drops into the state.

While any storms that fire up over the next few afternoons won't last for too long, they could briefly be intense with a quick downpour and gusty winds.  Otherwise, look for a partly cloudy days on Saturday and Sunday with highs in the 80s.

We'll all see a higher chance for rain early next week with more numerous showers and storms across the state Monday afternoon.
