CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- A source close to Spectrum News tells us that starting defensive tackle, Aaron Crawford, suffered a knee injury during practice on Wednesday.
- Officials declined to comment any further on the significance of that injury
- The team is officially in game mode now that training camp is over
- The Heels play California Sept. 1
North Carolina officials declined to comment any further on the significance of that injury. Crawford started all 12 games for the Heels in 2017 recording 29 tackles with three sacks and five tackles for loss.
As for the team in general, they are officially in game mode now with Head Coach Larry Fedora saying that their training camp was officially over this past weekend.
The Heels will travel to the Bay Area for their season opener at Cal on Sept. 1. They'll certainly be looking for a little bit of revenge after the golden bears beat UNC on their home field in last year's season opener.
Coach Fedora who likes what he is seeing out of his team so far says, "You know our guys are doing a great job of preparing themselves. This was really our first day of installation for Cal. We split the teams up and started working against what we are going to see and I think the guys are doing a great job of preparing."
