GREENSBORO, N.C. -- It's hard enough to play well on the PGA Tour. New player. Veteran player. Doesn't matter.
Try playing well, and add in the responsibility of being the Ryder Cup captain for your country.
Jump into Jim Furyk's world, the water is warm.
"My mind, right now, is so focused on the Ryder Cup," Furyk told reporters Wednesday at the Wyndham Championship. "I think it's a little hard to shut that off, if that makes sense. Sometimes (playing a tournament) is a good distraction. When you're on the golf course, you want to be locked in and focused on what you're doing."
Furyk maintains he has been able to separate "Captain Furyk," from "Tour Pro Furyk," but he has decisions to make. Captains picks are coming up, and he needs to make four selections to round out the American contingent that will try to defend the Cup next month in France.
"I'm just really excited. In the mornings, in the evenings, my mind is really on our pairings and groupings, and our preparations."
