FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Democrats held a Get Out the Vote Rally at Fayetteville State University Friday.
- Congressman John Lewis was one the speakers
- A group of about 100 attended the event
- He encouraged the crowd to vote during the midterm elections
Congressman John Lewis from Georgia who is also a Civil Rights Era icon who worked with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was one of the several speakers. A group of about 100 people came out for the event.
"So let's get out there and vote like we've never voted before," Lewis said to emphatic applause.
Also appearing at the rally was G.K Butterfield, Congressman for N.C. 1st District. Other speakers were Dan McCready, the candidate for the 9th Congressional district, and Mayor Mitch Colvin of Fayetteville. Frank McNeill, the candidate running for the 8th Congressional District was also in attendance.
