The winner will be chosen Tuesday night at 11 p.m.
It's the largest Mega Millions prize on record.
People we spoke with said winning the money would be life-changing.
"Everybody needs more money than they have," said Johnston County resident Scott Cable. "I mean, I am struggling to pay bills big time so it would definitely be helpful."
Even if you don't win, you can rest in knowing at least some of the money is benefiting the school system.
"Seventy-six cents of every $2 ticket that's sold goes directly to education, funding things like scholarships, school construction and pre-K education spots," said Kathleen Jacob with the NC Education Lottery. "So, yes, it is a fun and exciting chance for our players, but it's a big win for schools in our state."
