NORTH CAROLINA -- It may be too hot for a coat right now but two organizations spent their Saturday stockpiling coats to give to people in need.

  • The Ruff Ryders motorcycle organization held a coat drive for the Salvation Army of Wake County
  • The group says it's easy to forget winter is coming with the summer-like temperatures right now
  • The Salvation Army will begin giving the coats away next weekend

The Ruff Ryders motorcycle organization held a coat drive for the Salvation Army of Wake County.

Their goal is to get jackets to the less fortunate in the county before winter hits.

The group says it's easy to forget winter is coming with the summer-like temperatures in the Triangle right now.

"It'll sneak up on you and you'll have a 50 degree day just like that," said one Ruff Ryders member. "We want to make sure we're prepared and they're prepared."

The Salvation Army will begin giving the coats away next weekend.
