RALEIGH, N.C. -- A Raleigh man and a Durham woman face charges in a fentanyl distribution ring.

Thornton Watson, 24, and 26-year-old Shantevia Evans were indicted by the United States attorney Wednesday.

Watson and Evans have been charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and marijuana.

The drug arrest was conducted as part of the Take Back NC initiative, which is designed to target firearms and opioid-related crimes through partnerships with the Wake County District Attorney’s Office and federal, state and local law enforcement.
