RALEIGH, N.C. -- Raleigh police have released the name of the driver killed in a fiery crash Sunday.

  • Accident happened around 11 a.m. on Louisburg and Fox roads.
  • One of the cars burst into flames.
  • The dead driver has been identified as 59-year-old Francisco Jazquez.

Officials responded to the scene of Louisburg Road at the Fox Road intersection just before 11 a.m.

Following the crash, officials say one of the cars burst into flames.

Police say the bodies of 59-year-old Francisco Jazquez and an unidentified male child were found in the burned wreckage.

Three passengers in a second vehicle were taken to WakeMed with non-life-threatening injuries.

People who live nearby said Sunday wasn't the first time there's been a fatal crash at the intersection.

Some are calling on Department of Transportation to do something. Residents suggest a traffic light or even making sections of Fox Road dead end.

A previously scheduled public input meeting is set for Tuesday at Saint Matthew's Baptist Church on Louisburg Road from 5 to 9 p.m.
