RALEIGH, N.C. – Part of Wake Forest Road remains closed following a water main break late Wednesday.

  • Drivers heading eastbound on Wake Forest Road can turn left on Brookside Drive and continue to Capital Boulevard.
  • Drivers going westbound on Wake Forest Road can turn right on Old Louisburg Road and proceed southbound on Capital. 
  • We will keep you updated on when the road is reopened. 

The road is underwater between the Circus Family Restaurant and Watkins Grill.

Wake Forest Road between Brookside Drive and Old Louisburg Road is closed for an emergency repair.

Authorities are urging people to avoid the area.

If you do have an early commute -- there are some detours you can take: drivers heading eastbound on Wake Forest Road can turn left on Brookside and continue northbound on Capital Boulevard, and drivers going westbound on Wake Forest Road can turn right on Old Louisburg road and proceed southbound on Capital.

The city says no water customers in this area are affected.

The repairs could take several days depending on the weather.
