HATTERAS, N.C. -- Officials are investigating after a state-run ferry on the Outer Banks was spotted flying a flag supporting President Donald Trump's re-election.

President Trump's son Donald Jr. shared a photo of the flag flying on the MV Frisco ferry on Instagram.

The flag reads "Trump 2020" and the president's son posted that "the crazy libs are doing their outrage thing".

The MV Frisco runs between Hatteras and Ocracoke.

The NCDOT’s ferry division posted to Twitter to report that the flag has been removed and that it's working with the state's office of employee relations to take appropriate disciplinary action.
