CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. -- A yearbook picture at a Cumberland County high school is stirring up controversy.
Some parents say they were shocked to see a picture of a student wearing a Confederate flag T-shirt while holding a gun and standing in what appears to be a cotton field.
The picture was in the senior section of the Cape Fear High School yearbook.
Cumberland County schools issued a statement on the incident saying, "We sincerely regret that a photo of this nature was overlooked. It does not reflect the values of Cape Fear High School. Our climate is one of inclusiveness."
