SPRING LAKE, N.C. -- Spring Lake Police Chief Don Latham died after his battle with cancer on Sunday.

Latham was 66 years old.

He was an Army veteran who served on many law enforcement agencies in Cumberland County as sheriff’s department patrol commander, the Fayetteville Police Department Narcotics Division/Crime Division and training officer.

He's survived by his wife and three sons.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 7 at Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake. Visitation will be from 12 to 1:30 p.m.
