GREENSBORO -- Almost a year after the controversial 'bathroom bill' known as HB2 was repealed, sports fanatics have returned to the Gate City.

This week and next, GAC will host the ACC Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.

"Fast times for our swimmers, great opportunity with the diving well and the boards for our divers. It's what we would call a, 'fast pool' and that's what we want as our swimmers are preparing to qualify for the NCAA championships and we certainly want them to have the best opportunity to swim their fastest and get their qualifying times," said Christine Simatacolos, the chair of the ACC Swimming and Diving committee.

Coliseum officials are excited to say the Tournament Town excitement doesn't end here with swimming and diving. We have a full list of events to look forward to here in 2018.

"We'll have the ACC Women's Basketball tournament that returns Feb.28 through Mar. 4. We'll roll into the NCAA Swimming and Diving championships as well here at the Greensboro Aquatic Center," said Johnson.

Johnson tells us they they will also host NCAA Women's Basketball regional event in 2019 and NCAA Men's Basketball returns in 2020.
