Yes, rain is still in the forecast for part of this weekend, but don't cancel any of your outdoor plans. This weekend's showers should pass through central North Carolina while most of us are sleeping late Saturday night into early Sunday morning.

All day Saturday will be dry with thickening clouds. As the front approaches from the west, temperatures will warm from the upper 30s around sunrise Saturday to the mid and upper 60s by 3 p.m.

It appears the showers will pass through the Triangle between midnight Saturday night and sunrise Sunday morning. Since the showers will not last very long, much of the area should see around 0.1" of rain or less.

As cold air moves into the state behind the front, the high elevations of the North Carolina mountains could see a few snow showers Sunday morning. Here in central North Carolina though, look for sunshine for most of Sunday with temperatures holding in the 50s all day on a gusty northwest wind.

Lows will drop to near freezing late Sunday night into early Monday morning.
