HUBERT, N.C. -- Volunteers at Jaded Paws Rescue are working around the clock to give dogs, like Pit Bulls, a second chance at a happily ever after.

The nonprofit is dedicated to saving and rehabilitating abandoned and abused Bully breeds.

Since their inception in 2009, they've helped more than 300 dogs find their "fur-ever home."

"Any dog has the potential to bite, any dog has the potential to be an issue, there's a lot of misinformation out there about these breeds," said Founder Sylvia Kasch. "The biggest one is Pit Bull, that's not a breed, it's an umbrella and I want people to know just because they've got a blocky head, doesn't make them mean. They're some of the sweetest dogs you can find given the chance."

The rescue is currently collecting donations for their pet food pantry, which provides free pet food and supplies to low-income families in an effort to keep dogs united with their owners.
