CARY, N.C. – Cary council members say plans to build an IKEA at Cary Town Center can move forward.

The plans were approved with a unanimous vote from the council last night.

The IKEA development would replace the Sears and Macy's stores in the mall with a two story building and a two deck parking area.

IKEA expects to open the new store in 2020 with a groundbreaking in 2019.
