CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – People who live in Chapel Hill can make their voices heard Wednesday evening on the future of a Wegmans grocery store in their community.

Town leaders are considering granting the company a permit to setup shop.

The store would go on Fordham Boulevard along the Chapel Hill-Durham border.

Town officials say the biggest challenge is figuring out how to reroute traffic if the store became a reality.

"People are concerned about how they would enter and leave considering that 15/501 is a busy street already,” said Chapel Hill Mayor Pam Hemminger. “Old Chapel Hill Boulevard is also being modified right now for a multi-use path."

The public hearing will take place during the council business meeting. It starts at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
