GREENSBORO -- She's the only one of her kind, "Sim Mom."

UNC Greensboro is the first school in the world to use the robot in their nursing department.

The newest model can go through all stages of pregnancy all while helping students practice the realities of child labor.

Health officials say the latest statistics show deaths caused by child labor are on the rise. They hope robots like "Sim Mom" can help improve those numbers.

"Because of her realism and ability to train in so many different situations, she then can help our learners understand the risks that pregnant women go through in normal pregnancy, active labor and then after the baby is born," said Sarah Sue Miller, maternal new born director, Laerdal Medical Corp.

For now, the 'Sim Mom' is exclusively available to the nursing department at UNCG.
