BURLINGTON, N.C. -- At Lamb's Chapel in Burlington Saturday, people paid their respects to Officer Jared Franks.

Law enforcement from all over were present in a show of solidarity with Greensboro Police and the officer's family.

Franks died last Saturday after colliding with another officer and crashing his patrol car into a house in Greensboro while searching for a possible robbery suspect.

GPD Police Chief Wayne Scott says Franks died a hero. The 24-year-old officer joined GPD in June 2016.
