KERNERSVILLE, N.C. -- Police are investigating an allegation of illegal acts between a teacher and a student.

Rebecca Swinson was charged with three counts of sexual activity with a student and 16 counts of indecent liberties with a student.

According to a statement from Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, Swinson has since been dismissed.

The school system is working with law enforcement through the investigation.
