Another day and no significant rain for the Triad. This drier pattern will start to shift gradually back to typical afternoon and thunderstorms as we get closer to the weekend.

Thursday will be mostly sunny with afternoon highs around 91 with winds out of the south at 5 to 10mph. An isolated shower is possible, but not likely. By Friday afternoon, a few scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms will return to the Triad. It won't rain everywhere, but there will be a few storms around. The threat for severe weather will remain on the low end of the scale.

The next several nights you will see a pretty waxing crescent moon. The first quarter moon is this Friday, the full moon this month occurs on the 26th. Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn are still visible. Thursday the moon will be to the right of Jupiter. Venus is the brightest "star" in the western sky.

A subtropical storm has developed in the northern Atlantic. It poses no threat to any land area at this time. By the weekend it will be moving through the Atlantic toward Ireland.
