MOUNT AIRY, N.C. -- A Surry County woman faces several charges related to insurance fraud.

  • Bonnie Neely faces two counts of arson
  • Nine counts of insurance fraud 
  • More than 200 counts of obtaining property through false pretenses, along with exploiting the elderly

Investigators charged Bonnie Neely with two counts of arson, nine counts of insurance fraud and more than 200 counts of obtaining property through false pretenses, along with exploiting the elderly.

For each charge, Neely could face between four and 15 years in prison, depending on the value of the property obtained.

She is currently in jail under a $100,000 bond.

Investigators also charged William Neely and Tabatha Cox with insurance fraud in the case.
