DAVIDSON COUNTY -- Kids in Welcome got hands-on experience with STEM education.
- Science, technology, engineering and math are widely used in NASCAR
- The kids watched a race car grip the pavement, used technology to drive a virtual race track and other activities
- All participants are kids or grandkids of RCR employees
The kids got a chance to visit Richard Childress Racing to see how the pros work.
Science, technology, engineering and math are widely used in NASCAR.
The kids watched a race car grip the pavement, used technology to drive a virtual race track and other activities.
"Clearly, we do a lot of math in NASCAR right? So, that's one of the biggest things that we're looking to accomplish is just exposing these kids to not just watch cars go around in circles but what it takes to get from point A to those cars going around in circles," said Jeremy Burleson, RCR’s vice president of marketing and communications.
They started the camp last year with only a handful of kids.
All participants are kids or grandkids of RCR employees.
