It's a little early but we have our first named storm in the tropics. "Alberto" is expected to track through the eastern half of the Gulf of Mexico and the timing couldn't be worse....Memorial Day weekend. The impact will be significant for the heavily travelled beaches of the Gulf coast as well as the entire state of Florida. Rain will be an issue for us as well and that includes the whole state so if you plan to hit the beaches or the mountains, be prepared for rain. Also, uderstand that the rip current risk will be elevated at area beaches. Keep a close eye on the young ones and any weaker swimmers! After landfall, "Alberto will move slowly, keeping us in rain chances right through all of next week. The main concern here will be the flood threat. Be safe out there folks!
