It was a warm and humid weekend, and both days wound up with a scattering of late-day showers and storms.

  • Highs to remain warm
  • Each day to feature chance for storms
  • Possiblity of tropical low for holiday weekend

All in all, I anticipate more of the same for the new work week. Highs will remain warm with mainly mid 80s each day today through Saturday. Each day will feature the chance of some mainly afternoon scattered showers and storms. And each day, one or two of those storms could produce some damaging winds or hail (and lots of lightning).

I am also monitoring the goings-on in the Caribbean Sea. At this point, there is only some disorganized showers and storms. However, there is a possibility that some type of tropical low will attempt to spin up in the Gulf of Mexico by the upcoming holiday weekend. Time will tell. Assuming that is the case, the Carolinas would likely wind up with greatly enhanced chances of rain and storms by Sunday and Memorial Day.
