THOMASVILLE, NC. -- A manufacturing company is hoping to see a return on a big investment. Egger is an Austrian company opening a facility in Davidson county later this year.

It's offering to pay tuition and book costs for students in the manufacturing class at Davidson County Community College when they enroll in its four-year apprenticeship training program. There'll be a job waiting at the end.

"The opportunity to get a chance coming in on the ground floor with no experience to get on with this company is fantastic,” says machinery instructor, Kerry Smith. “Even more added to that is they're going to pay for training, and you're going to have a good hands-on career that you enjoy doing."

The company plans to invest $700 million to create more than 700 jobs over 15 years.

The apprenticeship program will start this fall at Davidson County Community College. The school will host an information session with the manufacturer Tuesday night, May 15th, at 6:00 at its Davidson campus.
