WAKE COUNTY, N.C. -- Strong storms left behind damage in some parts of Wake and Durham counties Sunday night into early Monday morning.

Reports of down trees and power lines came in from Zebulon and Wendell where a confirmed tornado came through around 10:35 p.m. Sunday near Edgemont Road. The EF1 tornado lasted about a minute with top winds of 87 miles per hour.

Other areas in the Triangle also received storm damage like flooding in Apex. A submerged car also had to be rescued from high flood water in Durham on Mineral Springs Road.

So far, there are no reports of injuries.

Numerous power outages were reported across the state at the height of the storms.
