GREENSBORO, N.C. -- If any teen in the Triad isn't going to her prom this year, it won't be for lack of an affordable dress.

In addition to a number of dress giveaways, Triad Goodwill is also holding its annual "Project Prom" sale.

The store on North Elm Street in Greensboro has dresses in every size and style -- many of them never worn -- starting as low as $5. It's Goodwill's way of helping out families on a budget.

"Students who are looking to go to prom and maybe can't afford that dress that's over $100. We have one here that was priced more than $1,000 brand new, still has the tag on it and somebody's going to get it for $25," organizer Gale Ketteler says.

Project Prom officially ends Saturday, but Goodwill says any dresses that haven't sold will still be out on the floor for sale.
