NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. -- A two year multi-agency investigation has led to 53 people being charged during a drug roundup. Of those 53 suspects, 32 were from Wilkes County with one of them being the major supplier in Wilkesboro. All of the people charged are connected to the growing use of methamphetamine in Wilkes County.

"We're very proactive and we go after them. that's why you see these results,” says Wilkesboro Police Chief Joe Rankin. “I admit that they are everywhere. The dealers are everywhere and we're going after them as hard as we can and it looks like we have a lot but it's cause we're going after them."

Three of the people charged also face federal charges. More charged could be filed.
