TRIAD -- The decision to change the name of PTI Airport to Central North Carolina International Airport last month hasn't gotten the response airport leaders were looking for from the public. The airport authority now says it will consider public suggestions for a new name.

"There were a number of folks who were opposed to it. And I've heard from a number in the economic development world, which this is really aimed at, who said that it was very good. So we understand that there's a mix of opinions and, again, the authority will consider those opinions going forward,” says Kevin Baker, executive director, Piedmont Triad Airport Authority.

The authority will hire a branding consultant to work on the new name and image over the next several months. In the meantime, the airport's name will remain the same.
