OAK RIDGE, N.C. -- Emergency crews responded to a wreck involving an overturned tractor trailer carrying live turkeys that caught fire in Oak Ridge early Wednesday morning.
Authorities say the fire on Haw River and Linville roads caused several people in the area to lose power because the flame reached as tall as the power line.
Foam was used instead of water to extinguish the fire because there were tires and a small fuel leak.
No one was hurt but the Highway Patrol says the driver fell asleep, veered to the right and overturned.
He was charged with careless anda reckless driving.
