BURLINGTON, N.C. -- A road rage incident may have led to a shooting in Burlington Thursday.          

Burlington police responded to a passenger shot in the head in the area of North Fisher Street and West Webb Avenue.           

Paramedics took the woman by helicopter to UNC Hospital where she was last listed in stable condition.

Witnesses told police it looked like the incident may have been a road rage situation with two men in a white Toyota Corolla and that the shot came from that car.

Police arrested one suspect, 21-year-old Jalen Watlington, and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.

A second suspect is still being sought.
