WINSTON-SALEM – The suspect in a robbery that happened in Winston-Salem got away with a whole cash register.

Officers responded early last Saturday morning to the G Tobacco Shoppe on North Point Boulevard.

Officials say the suspect entered the store, sprayed pepper spray at the clerk’s face and then took off with the entire cash register.

The amount of cash that was in the register was not revealed.

The suspect left in what possibly could be an older-model, gold-colored Honda passenger vehicle.

The store clerk was treated at the scene by EMS for their exposure to pepper spray.
